Classes at the Sewing Hive

Our studio mission is to teach home garment making skills from beginners to advanced, with small class sizes that are hands-on for our students.  Although we have classes that include all types of textile arts, what sets us apart is the love of teaching how to make well-fitting, well-constructed clothes from beautiful fabrics that are classic and will last many years. We measure success by the smiles on our students’ faces as they leave with a garment they can wear with pride for years, or something made for their homes that will be useful, used, and have meaning.

All our instructors are perpetual sewers and learners, most with years of experience and knowledge, but also with a curious nature for learning a new technique or skill.  Our mission, which we have accepted, is to engage a generation that has not yet felt the pride of their own workmanship, and to have those with skills start to use them again.

Open Sewing with Bee Social

Bee Social is our  ‘Open Sew’ clinic time slot, where we can offer creative support and feedback for those working on personal projects.  Stop in if you just need some thoughts when planning a new project, or advice before starting a repair or alteration.  This is a free clinic and hosted by one of The Sewing Hive instructors.  Being in Clintonville, parking is very limited, and you most likely will have to park on a side street.  If you are bringing a machine, feel free to drop off your equipment before parking.  Any questions, please email us at studio@sewinghive.com

Our first Bee Social Clinic is Wednesday, February 20th from 6-9 pm
at The Sewing Hive, 3455 Indianola Ave, across from the Deco.
