Hannah Harman:
Hannah is a Florida born native who relocated to the Columbus area in 2024 to become a Technical Designer for the clothing brand Lane Bryant. Her sewing journey started when she was 5 years old, drawing pictures of dresses and fashioning doll clothes from fabric scraps she would find. Her 2 grandmothers fostered her creative spirit and taught her hand sewing and how to operate her first sewing machine. From there she went on to build her expertise, graduating with a Technical Certificate in industrial sewing from Orange Technical College and a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Hannah has had a variety of jobs in the industry from costume repair at Walt Disney World, to repairing sewing machines in Savannah GA, she has always tried to learn as much as she can and share her knowledge with others. She is so excited to start teaching here at the sewing hive and looks forward to meeting and helping students with their own sewing journeys.

Brief note:
I personally love the fluidity and challenge of sewing. It’s a skill that can be used to create the most incredible, beautiful, and humbling pieces of art. Sewing is not just my hobby, it’s my passion.
