Casual Pants
Sew a comfortable and casual pair of loose-fitting pants with great features:
Polished-looking elastic high waist,
topstitched front pockets, and back pockets
and optional wide, cropped or tapered legs,
size inclusive with hips measuring 37”-65”,
all-weather wardrobe staple, depending on the fabric
Jamie will show you how to make slight adjustments to the fit, understitch, and top-stitch
Bring the following to class:
Bottom-weight fabrics with some drape such as linen, cotton/linen blends, cotton twill, linen/viscose blends, light to mid-weight denim, Tencel twill, cotton poplin, and wool gabardine. You can see the quantities listed in the second image.
All-purpose polyester thread,
2” wide elastic x your waist for the Chanterelle pattern
1 ½”wide elastic x your waist measurement for the Free-Range pattern
The Chanterelle Sewing Pattern by Sew Liberated (hip measurements for 33.5”-51”)
Sewing machine, or rent one of ours for $10
Tools: Fabric scissors, straight pins, tailor's chalk, large safety pin or bodkin
Students must already understand how to sew with a sewing pattern, know how to measure their waist and hips, and have made a pair of lounge or PJ pants from a pattern.
Ages 18+
Three 3-hour classes. You may have homework, depending on your sewing skills.
$ 140 per student for a group class of 2-3 students
Once you place the order, your instructor will contact you to coordinate class dates and times. The class will run once two have registered. You may upgrade to a private class for a fee of $200 if you don’t want to wait for a second student to sign up.
