Did you learn how to use your machine and want to start with a fun garment project? Starting sewing projects like these should be on your list as a new sewist. Learn to sew cozy pajama shorts or pants for yourself or your loved ones.
SKILLS YOU WILL GAIN: how to create an elastic waistband, make buttonhole drawstring openings, finish seams, hem, add pockets, optional faux fly, and measure for the perfect fit.
BRING TO CLASS:
Sewing tools: pins, fabric scissors, fabric marking chalk or pen, tape measure, seam ripper, and the button-hole foot that came with your machine for the optional drawstring openings.
Fabric and Notions Kit
Also, bring your sewing machine or rent one for $10 per class if you need to use ours.
As a class prerequisite, adults should know how to operate and thread a sewing machine independently.
3 hours of instruction. $75
This is a group class with a minimum of two people. Your instructor will email students to coordinate dates and times that work best for everyone once there are two registered. You may upgrade to a private class for $95.
Private classes are guaranteed to run.
There is a materials kit that includes all fabrics, notions, and instructions, which is $35 for youth, and $45 for adults. You can find that here.
