Learning how to sew a t-shirt is a great starting class to get you comfortable with sewing knit fabric.
Students will create a short-sleeved T-shirt with a crew neckband.

You’ll learn how use your measurements to adjust patterns to ensure the ideal fit for your unique shape.
You’ll also learn how to construct a t-shirt, step by step, from start to finish, mastering essential skills like cutting, stitching without seam puckers and “bubbles”, and sewing with a twin needle.
BRING TO CLASS:
-The Classic Tee pattern by Love Notions, or the Closet Core FREE T-Shirt online pattern.
You can have us print it for you for class for $2.50 per sheet in A0 size paper by sending the A0 file to studio@sewinghive.com and we will have it ready for you to use and take home for the class.
Or you may print and tape together from a standard home printer before class.
-Your tape measure,
-pattern weights, acrylic ruler and rotary, or ball-point pins and fabric scissors,
-jersey machine needles,
-twin needle,
-seam ripper,
-seam gauge,
-fabric marking tool,
-and your sewing machine.
1 ½ cotton jersey fabric and matching all-purpose thread,
or purchase a kitfor $25, which has the fabric and thread.
Skill requirements: Knowledge of how to set up and use a sewing machine and how to cut fabric from a pattern, or have attended the Stitch-Style-Create class series.
$75 for 3 hours of instruction for a scheduled or Flex-Schedule class or
$95 for 3.5 hours of instructor for a Flex-Schedule Private class.
