Fashion Club for Teens

$500.00

This class is for serious young sewists!

Students should have attended, at minimum, 12 hours of sewing classes or camps and be able to thread and use their sewing machines to precisely sew straight and curved seams without assistance.

Over the course of the academic year, students will work with an award-winning professional designer to learn the fundamentals of fashion design, create a mood board and design a collection. Working as a team, they will build the necessary patternmaking and sewing skills to bring their collection to life, ending with a fashion show in June. This is an excellent portfolio builder for any aspiring designer’s application to a fashion or costume design program and students should be prepared to work hard and navigate the challenges faced by working professionals like budgeting/costing, creative collaboration, materials sourcing and fitting. This class may require homework between sessions in order to successfully complete their designs.
