Your Cricut Cutting Machine and You - Holiday Edition
Overwhelmed with your Holiday To-Dos? Outsource some of the prep to your Cricut and have some fun at the same time!
Students will learn to use Cricut's DesignSpace software to mark and cut fabric and cut, weed, and apply heat transfer vinyl as they create this handmade reusable gift bag and tag!
If you're able, bring your Cricut cutting machine, a laptop with DesignSpace installed and updated, cutting mats for fabric (12" x 24") and vinyl (12" x 12"), Cricut pen, knife and rotary blade tool attachments, and weeding tools if you have them. If you're missing some or all of this, or your machine doesn't do fabric, no worries! Your instructor will have hers to demonstrate all techniques and you'll still be able to complete your project.
All students need the following:
1 12" x 12" sheet of Heat Transfer Vinyl (solid, glitter, holographic, or patterned is fine!)
2 Fat Quarters or 1/2 yard of quilting cotton fabric
Matching thread
1 yard coordinating 1/2" Ribbon or Twill Tape
1 sheet of glitter cardstock at least 6" x 6"
1 sheet of metallic or solid cardstock at least 6" x 6"
Glue stick or double-sided tape
OR
Purchase a kit from your instructor for $12 (3 days’ advance notice required to prepare a kit)
Bring your sewing machine or rent one of ours for $10
Sewing kit including hand and machine needles, scissors for fabric and paper, marking tools
Pinking shears (optional)

Minimum 2 Students, Maximum 4 Students
Ages 12+
Level: Confident beginner. Students should be able to thread their machine and sew precise straight lines without assistance.
