Classic Blazer Course- $728 for 4 months.

from $168.00

Everyone should have a Classic Blazer Or Sport Coat since they are so versatile. They go with skirts, jeans, or pants and are ready for any occasion. Let’s face it: Ready-made blazers rarely fit right and aren’t made to last anymore.

With two students per session, you receive a lot of individual attention from a professional instructor who specializes in fitting and sourcing quality fabrics.
A one-two hour Orientation meeting will be held once we have two students registered to discuss the supplies and fabrics you will need. This is one of the most critical parts of any project. We will also let the group decide on dates and times for future sessions. You will have two weeks to collect your supplies.
The second session will last 4 hours and will consist of measurements, pattern fitting, muslin creation, and fittings.

BRING TO CLASS:
Closet Core’s Jasika Blazer Pattern (as shown) for the women’s pattern and added a men’s Sport Coat pattern, Simplicity S8962. The Closet Core Blazer, as of today, is available up to a pattern size 20. The Simplicity pattern has two sizes: 34-42 or 44-52 chest measurements.

You will be learning to fit, sew and alter a muslin. Cutting and marking a pattern, fusing, bagging a lining, sleeve insertion, sleeve heads, finishing, and pressing.

If you are interested in sewing for another person, that person must come with you for fittings and class times.
The next four classes will have two sessions per month for two months, about 2 hours each, to work with you to go forward with the project. You can use the studio to sew upon reservation.

The total pricing for this Program is $728; the deposit of $364 pays for the first two months, then you will be billed an additional $168 at the end of the second month, and the final bill will be $168 at the end of the third month.

You may purchase this class as a gift valid for one year from purchase until it is no longer offered; then, your purchase will be valid for class credit toward another class for one year.

The last class created five gorgeous jackets. Read a review here:

I am very experienced in making jackets as a home sewer but fitting and altering are the big hurdles. I got all the help I needed to fit my muslin, alter my pattern, and draft a new lining pattern, which was fantastic. I loved the combination of the structure, so I stayed focused and flexible, so I never felt like I was ahead or behind in class. The individualized instruction was great. I also really enjoyed the social aspect and seeing and learning from my classmates' projects. No question, a tailoring project takes effort, but I got a beautiful jacket I will enjoy wearing for years plus a perfectly fitted pattern that will be a joy to sew again and again. Top marks! Thanks, Paula
