Pants Fitting and Sewing Techniques

from $150.00

Students will sew either the Lander pants pattern from True Bias OR the Jenny Trousers from Closet Core patterns. The class is two 3-hour sessions.

Techniques: Finding a great fit for pants starts with having all the measurements needed for well-fitting pants. We will transfer your measurements to the Lander Pants or Jenny Trouser pattern. Students will learn the basics of how the various body measurements relate to flat patterns for pants and what tricks can be employed to ensure success in pants fitting. We will sew the pants with a fly front zipper in both cases.

The Lander pants are high-waisted, straight-leg pants that can be sewn in various lengths. It is sized for a waist measuring 26” – 38.5” and hips measuring 34” – 46.5”.

Jenny's pants are high-waisted with either straight or tapered legs. The pattern comes in two size ranges: 0-20 (24-39” waist/33-48” hip) or 14-32 (36-54” waist/47.4-65.2” hip)

NOTE: If your measurements fall outside this range, please contact the Sewing Hive before registering for the class. studio@sewinghive.com
