FLEX-SCHEDULE ONLY Beginner Quilts with Susan Sanford

$240.00
Limit 2 per order

Learn to sew quilts for your friends and family to treasure!

This class is rewarding for beginners who know how to machine sew and would be a terrific gift. Your teacher will show you helpful techniques and guide you through making a quilt from start to finish. You will start with a crib-size quilt. You will construct the quilt blocks, sew the blocks together to create the quilt top, layer the back fabric for the quilt, batting, and quilt top, machine your quilt and finally finish the edges with binding.

As a beginner class, we will be doing a four patch with sashing.

BRING TO CLASS:

Fabrics (please launder your fabrics ahead of class):

6 (or more) different fabrics cut as ‘fat quarters’ for the four squares. Many fabric groupings come packaged together in this size.

1 yard of a plain or coordinating fabric for the sashing (areas between the four squares) and border.

½ yard for the binding

1.75 yard for the backing

One package of cotton batting, crib size (I prefer Warm and Natural)

Tools:

Sewing Machine

¼” foot

Walking foot

Rotary cutter

Ruler (at least a 24”)

Cutting mat

Max of two students per class, ages 18 and up.

This is a Flex-Schedule class, meaning once you place the order, Susan will contact you to arrange dates and times that work for everyone.

This class is for the beginner sewist who is comfortable operating their machine. If you have some quilting experience, or are looking for assistance with a specific pattern, please contact us for alternative classes.

Please contact sewsusan.sewinghive@gmail.com with any questions ahead of your class.

Four 2-hour long sessions will be scheduled once you have purchased.
