Maxi Dress Sewing Class: Shay in The Summertime!
Create your own beautiful Shay Maxi Dress in this garment sewing class! The Shay pattern features a flattering wide-scoop neckline, a fitted princess-seam bodice, and a flowing maxi-length skirt with three gathered tiers for added movement and style. Students can personalize their dress by choosing 1, 2, or 3 gathered tiers.
You’ll be making View A, featuring a clean center-back invisible zipper. Throughout the class, participants will gain experience in sewing gathered tiers, constructing a fitted bodice, and learning garment-finishing techniques to create a polished, wearable dress. Students can also choose to add extra flair with a puffed sleeve, upon request.
Suggested Fabrics: Rayon Twill, Rayon Challis, Rayon Voile, Cotton Lawn, Chambrey, Linen.
Bodice lining should be a medium-heavy weight for structure.
Stretch Light Fusible Tricot Interfacing, such as Pelon brand.

Pattern includes bust sizes 30”-58”, waist 25”-49”, hips 35”-59”
Skill Level: Adults with Intermediate beginner to confident sewist (basic machine sewing experience recommended).
Experience with at least one commercial pattern preferred.

Hours: 3-hour sessions (9 hours total)

Flex-Scheule or Schuleded Group Class $240
We encourage group classes, so ask a friend to join you. There’s a minimum enrollment of 2 students to hold a class. You will be notified one week before the class if the minimum hasn’t been met, and at that point, you may upgrade to a private class.
