Let’s get “beach ready”! Sew a simple tie quilt and a backpack from a beach towel to carry your swimming accessories.
Kids will learn to construct a Summer-weight quilt with backing and cute hand-tied embroidery accents, perfect for traveling or decorating in warm weather.

Bring 12 coordinating quilting fat quarters for the top of the quilt; these are 18”x22” pre-cut squares of cotton fabric you can find in the quilting fabric section of a craft store or any quilting shop.
Also, bring a flat twin-sized bed sheet for the back of the quilt,
a skein of contrasting colored embroidery floss for the ties,
one spool of all-purpose thread.
And for the backpack:
1/2 yard of medium-weight cotton fabric
One beach towel

Prerequisite:
Intro To Machine Sewing skills: ability to thread a sewing machine’s top spool and bobbin. Ability to cut and sew a straight line.
