The Sewing Hive, Columbus Ohio

Gail Kelley and Jamie Hevener first met when Gail began teaching at a local fabric shop.  Jamie was teaching a group of beginners and Gail was impressed with the engaging way in which she was encouraging these young students to learn to sew.  They were sewing simple pajama pants, and they were so proud of what they were accomplishing.  After class, Gail and Jamie met for coffee. Several meetings later, they realized they shared a similar vision, that of creating a dedicated sewing studio in Columbus… The Sewing Hive.

The Sewing Hive isn’t a fabric store; it’s a place to learn or strengthen your skills in sewing, sourcing fabrics, and pattern fitting & making. Our goal is to partner with local fabric stores Sew to Speak and Dabble and Stitch to provide material and supplies for our classes. For students who want to shop on their own, a supply list is provided.
