Easy Rag Quilt
Easy Rag Quilt
This beginner quilt class will teach you about planning, cutting, and assembling quilt blocks. The rag quilt is A nontraditional quilt with one layer of cotton fabric and one layer of flannel fabric. It is a much lighter-weight quilt than a quilt with batting in the middle. This quilt is also very forgiving for a beginner because you don’t have to be as precise as you are with a standard quilt.
In the first class, we will review planning your quilt and cutting out the fabric.
In the second class, we will assemble and sew it together.
In the third and final class, we will trim all the edges that will become the “rags”.
Bring:
Pre-washed 4-5 cotton fabrics for the top @ 1/2 to 1 yard each
Pre-washed flannel backing approximately 3 yards
All-purpose thread
Rotary cutter and ruler (optional, but we can share… but it’s nice to have at home for homework)
Sharp scissors or snips for the rag portion
Cost: $150. Fabrics are not included.
