Private Youth Hand Sewing Lessons (Ages 6+)
Creative one-on-one hand sewing lessons designed to inspire young makers! Students learn beginner sewing skills through fun, age-appropriate projects while building confidence, creativity, patience, and practical skills. Flex scheduling allows families to coordinate a lesson time that works best for them.
The sewing kits include fabrics and threads.

Flex-Schedule One-Hour Private Class $45 plus a prepared materials kit for $15.
Parents may wait in the lobby and use the WIFI or spend some time reading.
When they know how to thread a machine, can sew a straight line, and have the curiosity to learn more.
Kids Quilting Class: Sew Your First Quilt Block
Ready to spark creativity and build sewing skills? In this kids-friendly class, they will learn how to sew a basic quilting block using a sewing machine.
Students will choose from four fun quilt block designs, giving them a chance to personalize their project while learning essential quilting techniques.
What they’ll learn:
How to match and align fabric patterns
Proper pinning techniques for accuracy
Arranging fabric pieces into a quilt block design
Sewing layers together using a sewing machine
By the end of class, each student will complete a 10" x 10" quilt block—a perfect first project and a great foundation for future quilting!
Equipment: Sewing machines will be used. Bring your own or rent one of ours.
Materials:
$15 Fabric kits are required and will be available for purchase separately
Each kit includes all materials needed to complete the project.
This class is a fun and supportive introduction to quilting—perfect for creative kids who want to learn a lifelong skill!
Class Details:
Ages 9 and up for students who know how to use their machine: setting up the thread and bobbin, troubleshooting, sewing a straight line, and have already sewn a couple of projects by machine successfully.
Bring your own sewing machine, or rent one of ours.

Hand-sewing for ages 6+
Youth, ages 9+
Learn to sew in one 2-hour class (ages 9+). Make a pillowcase while learning basics: threading the machine, changing the needle, sewing straight lines, backstitching, finishing seams, pivoting corners, using pins, fabric markers, shears, and machine needles. You’ll also wind a bobbin, change stitch settings, cut fabric from a simple pattern, and fix common machine problems like thread jams and puckering.
Options and Cost:
Flex-Schedule or listed scheduled date Group class (2-4 students): $65 includes all fabrics and materials in your choice of colors. Class kit is $25
Flex-Schedule Private one-on-one: $90 includes all fabrics and materials in your choice of colors. (guaranteed to run).

Scheduling:
Some classes have set dates/times. If a listing has no date, the instructor will email you after you register to schedule. If a group class doesn’t meet the 2-student minimum, you’ll be emailed a week before class with options: upgrade to private, join the waitlist, pick another date, move your credit, or get a refund.

A fun one-hour introduction designed to help determine if your child is ready for a kids’ group sewing machine class!
Children will explore beginner sewing machine skills in a calm, encouraging setting while learning basic safety, following simple directions, and gaining confidence around the sewing machine. This session helps ensure children feel comfortable and prepared before joining a group class.
At the end of class, we’ll recommend the best next step for your young sewist.
This is a Flex-Schedule Private Class, that once you order, we will contact you to coordinate a time and date that works for your child and the instructor.
*Note: Parents are required to stay in the building during the lesson. There is a lobby with WIFI and comfy chairs.
One Hour, $55, which includes machine rental and practice fabrics for making a cloth bookmark. No kit is required.

Machine Sewing for ages 7-8
Your young one can learn to machine sew in this course, tailored for ages 9-
You will make a standard-sized pillowcase with a coordinating cuff, a button-top tote bag, and a matching zipper wallet with key ring, elastic waist shorts, or an elastic waist skirt.
Skills learned: setting up threads, winding a bobbin, changing a needle, preventing jams, proper use of tools, finishing seams, using patterns, following sewing instructions, making button-holes, using fusible interfacing, lining bags, adding elastic, and getting the right measurements.
You’ll need to bring:
fabric shears,
seam ripper,
tape measure,
straight pins
pin cushion
fabric chalk pencil
Bring your machine, or rent one of ours, with the standard and zipper foot attachments that came with it.
Four 2-hour classes
$50 for the course kit with all the materials, instructions, and patterns you will need
$250 for Flex-Schedule or scheduled groups of two to four.

Looking for a fun kids sewing class where children can continue to use a sewing machine? In this beginner-friendly machine sewing class for kids, students will learn basic sewing skills while creating a personalized bunting banner with fabric block letters that spell their name with Instructor Hannah Harman.
Designed for beginner sewists, this hands-on class teaches children how to safely use a sewing machine, sew straight lines, handle fabric, and assemble a simple sewing project from start to finish. Kids will enjoy choosing fabrics and creating a custom fabric name banner to decorate their bedroom, playroom, or creative space.
This beginner sewing class for kids is a great introduction to machine sewing and helps build confidence, creativity, and foundational sewing skills in a fun, encouraging environment. No previous sewing experience is required.

Beginning sewing projects like this should be on your list as a new sewer. Learn to sew cozy pajama shorts or pants for you or your loved ones.
SKILLS They WILL GAIN: how to create an elastic waistband, finish seams, hemming, and measure for the perfect fit.
BRING TO CLASS: Your sewing machine, or rent one for $10 a class if you need to use one of ours. Let your instructor know so she can reserve one.
You will need to purchase the Pajama pants kit for $35, which includes elastic, a spool of thread, their choice of fabric color, and written instructions to take home
Kids ages 9-17 who can independently operate and thread a sewing machine.
2.5 hours of instruction in a scheduled or Flex-Schedule group class of 2-3 students is $75.
2.5 hours of Flex-Schedule Private class instruction with your child and the instructor only is $95.
After you place your order, your instructor will email you to coordinate a date and time to meet once you register for a Private or Semi-private class.
Ages 9-15
Make a fun, useful tote bag and learn skills you’ll want to use again.
To register, choose from these options:
Flex-Schedule and Scheduled Group class (2–4 students): $65+ the $25 sewing kit per student. We run the class once at least two students register, so invite a friend.
Flex-Schedule Private class (one student + instructor): $95 + the $25 sewing kit
The $25 tote bag sewing kit (fabric, notions, pattern, instructions, thread) before class.

Your instructor will walk you through each step as you learn to create a classic and gender-neutral sweatshirt.
Sweatshirts are easy garments for those who want to learn how to sew their own clothing.
YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO CREATE:
Kangaroo or side pockets, drawstring channels with button-hole or grommet openings, stretch-to-fit cuffs, and waistbands.
BRING TO CLASS:
Sewing machine with standard and buttonhole presser foot, ball-point needles (stretch or jersey), and all-purpose thread.
You may rent one of ours for $10 if you don't have a machine.
Suggested fabrics should be pre-laundered before class.
Sweatshirt fleece, stretch cotton terrycloth, blanket fleece or heavyweight jersey with a cotton blend: Please see the size chart on your pattern before purchasing fabric.
