Level 4 Classes: Intermediate
The perfect jacket for all of your adventures! The Beachcomber is a lined jacket with patch and welt pockets and options for a hood or collar. The front can be fastened with snaps or buttons. The sleeve hems are brought in with elastic for a comfortable and flexible fit. The hem is faced and slightly curved for a cool look and feel!
The Beachcomber Jacket is designed for mid-heavy weight woven fabrics. Denim, twill, and canvas are great options.
For the lining you will want to choose something light - mid weight that feels good on your skin.

Universal and topstitch machine needles
Five 5/8” buttons or snaps (talk to Susan about snaps ahead of time)
You’ll learn to create and add a jacket lining, topstitch, and make welt and patch pockets.
Prerequisite: Taken Stitch-Style-Create 1 and know how to sew a garment from a pattern.

Up to 9 hours of hands on instruction. Class schedule will be determined after purchase.
The group class must have two registered participants to run. Our group classes are designed for shared learning in groups.
We’ll email you a week before class if it doesn’t meet the 2-student minimum. You’ll have the option to switch to a private lesson, join the waiting list, move your credit to another class, or get a refund.
Learn to Sew a Classic Dore Corset.
In this class you will learn how to understand a basic corset pattern, sew in bone tape, inset boning and busks, as well as applying grommets.
In our Dore Corset class, you'll learn the timeless art of corsetry, focusing on the classic Dore style known for its elegant structure and beautiful silhouette. This hands-on class guides you through every step, from understanding pattern layouts to precise cutting and sewing techniques. You'll master skills like boning insertion, lining, and lacing to create a functional, supportive corset that fits perfectly.
Please bring:
2 yards of medium-weight woven fabric,
1.5 yards of coutil,
2 yards of double-fold extra-wide bias binding,
15 yards of spiral boning,
10 yards of 1/2” bone casing,
1/4” bone tips,
12” busk,
4-5 yards of corset lacing,
30T00 grommets,
all-purpose thread,
your sewing machine and your sewing tools.
