It’s cardigan season! This class offers a choice of two cardigan patterns

• Marlo Sweater by True Bias (busts 32”-57.5”, hip 34” – 59.5”)

• Aveiro Cardigan by Itch to Stitch (busts 31” – 46”, hip 33” – 48”)

• Kawartha Cardigan Jacket by Sew News (busts 33”-58”, hip 35”-60”)

Students will sew one of the cardigans from the above list in class.
Students will learn sewing with sweater knits, tips for successful buttonholes in knits, or other knit fabrics should they choose French terry, microfleece, lightweight sweatshirt fleece or ponte knit to use for their sweater. If your measurements fall outside of this size range please get in touch with the studio at studio@sewinghive.com before registering for the class.

BRING TO CLASS:
Cardigan pattern from the pattern listed in the course description

• Fabric required for the size matching your measurements (check pattern size chart). Choose a light or medium-weight sweater knit, French Terry, light or medium-weight sweatshirt fleece, ponte, or other double knits fabric such as double jersey or microfleece. Read your pattern’s requirement for the amount of stretch needed in the fabric. Generally, 20%-40% is appropriate.

• Your sewing machine. Must be capable of zigzag stitch

• Matching thread

• Buttons (if using for your pattern of choice)

• Seam ripper

• Pins

• Scissors (and rotary cutter optional)

• Fabric marking pen or chalk

• 1-yard lightweight knit interfacings such as Pellon Easy Knit Tricot or Pellon Sheer knit

Once you register the instructor will contact you to coordinate dates and times for your class.

3 1/2 hour class
$75 for semi-private class.
$150 for a private class

Once you register, your instructor will coordinate a date and time that works for everyone.
Maximum 3 students
This course is for students who have completed their Stitch, Style, Create or their Stitch, Style, Create Knits series and want to move further into garment sewing.

An additional $10 is added if you order the class and a machine rental.
