Learn to sew clothing! Focus on clothing construction in this five-week Beginner Level Clothing Course; new sewists can jump into this series to gain clothes-making skills to last forever.

You’ll learn to shop for garment fabric, notions, and patterns.
And you’ll make a pencil or a-line skirt with slant pockets, an invisible zipper, and a faced waistband with the Encore pattern by Love Notions
Then, using the Ilford pattern by Friday Pattern Paper Company, you’ll make a simple shirt jacket with a collar, buttonholes, and a button-front placket.

Shirt: Assembled Pattern: Ilford jacket from Friday Pattern Company,
Buttons (1.5” or smaller. 5-12 buttons depending on the size of the button. )
Tools: 80/12 Universal needles and matching all-purpose thread

Skirt: Assembled Pattern: Encore Skirt from Love Notions Patterns, Medium weight apparel woven fabrics such as linen, wool blends, denim, twill, sateen, corduroy, and suitings. Coordinating thread, fusible interfacing, 7”-9” invisible zipper. One hook & eye.

You’ll need a sewing machine, fabric scissors, pins, tailor’s chalk or fabric pen, seam ripper, and a tape measure each week.
Prerequisite: Stitch-Style-Create 1 or a “sewing school” type of beginner course or classes.
Ages 16 and up
Class size: up to 2 students
This course consists of five 3-hour weekly sessions.

Cost: $300. If you order the class and a machine rental, you'll pay an additional $10.

You may purchase this class as a gift valid for one year from purchase until it is no longer offered; then, your purchase will be valid for class credit toward another class.
